The Walsh Mountains, co. Kilkenny, Ireland – Argent, a chevron gules between three broad arrow heads points upwards sable. Crest: A swan pierced through the back and breast with a dart (arrow) all proper.
A family who formerly possessed a large extent of land in the barony of Iverk, co. Kilkenny, founded in Ireland by Philip Brenagh, who was one of the companions of Robert Fitz-Stephen in the invasion of Ireland in 1170 AD.
Lewellyn Walsh owned 100 acres of land in Affadde in the 15th century - Walter Walsh, Sheriff of Kilkenny from 1579-1586, son of Robert Walsh, and grandson of Edmund Walsh of Castlehale - his grandson, also Walter Walsh, was a Member of Parliament for Kilkenny in 1639 – later there was Captain Robert Walsh who died at the Siege of Limerick in 1691
