Shropshire, England - Jonathan Scott of Betton Strange (1754-1829), English orientalist, best known for his translation of the Arabian Nights, third son of John Scott of Shrewsbury - Argent three catharine wheels sable a border engrailed gules. Crest: A demi gryphon segreant sable membered gules. Motto: Recte faciendo neminem timeas (Fear no one in doing right).

Note: William Scott, Searcher of the Port of Dublin, who had wife Elizabeth (d. 1634) bore the shield with a crescent on a crescent for difference.
