Scott of Jamaica & Ireland - granted in 1814 to Matthew Henry Scott Esq., Rear-Admiral in the Royal Navy, served in the West Indies during the French Revolutionary War, son of John Scott Esq. of Jamaica, an opulent planter, son of John Scott Esq. of Ballingarry, co. Tipperary, Ireland, and to their descendants - Argent on a fess gules cotised azure between three catharine wheels sable as many lambs passant, of the first, in the centre chief an anchor in pale of the last. Crest—A rock rising out of the sea, thereon a beacon fired all proper. Motto—Regi patriseque fidelis (Faithful to the king and father).
