Roxburgh, Scotland - William Scott (1529-1561), 1st Laird of Harden, known as "Willy with the Boltfoot", son of Robert Scott of Stickshaws, who descended from Walter Scott of Sinton, who traced his pedigree to John, second son of Sir Michael Scott of Murthockstone - later there was William Scott of Harden (d. 1655), Sheriff of Selkirk -  Or, on a bend azure a star of six points between two crescents of the field, in sinister chief a rose gules slipped and barbed proper.
