confirmed to Andrew Newton (1785-1872), Esq., of Dungannon, co. Tyrone, Ireland, descended from Richard Newton, who settled at Carrickfergus before 1595 and was Sheriff there - Argent in chief two lions’ gambs sable each grasping a key ppr. and in base a lion rampant gules charged on the breast with a cross pattée of the field. Crest—A martlet sable charged on the breast with a cross pattee argent. Motto—Faveat fortuna.
