Devonshire, England - William Newton left Somerset and lived in Crabaton, son & heir was John Newton (born c. 1584) - Vert two shinbones in saltire, the sinister surmounted of the dexter argent. Crest—An eastern prince crowned or, kneeling and delivering up his sword, blade proper hilt or, granted, says family tradition, to an ancestor of the Newtons, who overcame and took prisoner an eastern prince at the Battle of Ascalon (1099 AD).
