Dorset, Sheriff and Mayor of Poole, son of George Garland, changed his surname to Lester in 1805 in accordance with the will of grandfather, Benjamin Lester - Gules a fesse erminois between two fleurs-de-lis in chief argent and a caduceus in base proper thereon the cap of Mercury of the third. Crest—A demi gryphon, wings elevated ermine beaked and membered or, in the claws a trident erect azure headed gold. Motto—Favente Deo.
