Lee of St. Julian’s and Sopwell, co. Hertfordshire, England - second arms granted to Sir Richard Lee of Sopwell after the military services rendered at the Siege of Boulogne (1544-1546) - Per chevron or and gules in chief two lions rampant combatant sable armed and langued of the second. Crest—A dexter arm embowed in armour, holding a sword argent hilt and pommel or, from the blade flames of fire issuing proper. Motto: Fero at flama (Iron and fire).
His first coat of arms was: Argent three pellets enclosed by two chevronels, between three wells azure, on a chief sable, a lion passant of the first, armed, and langued gules. Crest: A castle gules, from the battlements a demi-lion rampant argent.
