Heraldic/Genealogical Details:
Lamb of Rye, co. Sussex, England - James Lamb, wealthy wine merchant and mayor of Rye, built Lamb House in 1722 – had issue including Thomas, James, and John – last member of the family to live in the house was Rev. George Augustus Lamb - Sable on a fesse or, between three cinquefoils ermine two mullets of the field. Crest: On a mount vert a lamb argent.
Note: In the winter of 1726 King George I took refuge at the house after his ship was washed ashore at nearby Camber Sands.
