Jones of Drogheda, Ireland - Sir Roger Jones (d. 1643), commanded the government forces in Connaught during the Irish Rebellion of 1641, elevated to the Peerage of Ireland as Viscount Ranelagh and Baron Jones of Navan in 1628, son of Thomas Jones (c. 1550-1619), Archbishop of Dublin, son of Henry Jones Esq. of Middleton - Azure on a cross between four pheons, points down or, five estoiles gules. Crest—An arm couped at the elbow erect, vested or, the hand holding a pheon, point upwards argent.
