Glamorgan, Wales - granted in 1800s to Richard Middleton Hill of Dilton Ley, Stoke, Bath (1858-1939), chief constable of Cornwall, son of Rev. Richard Humphrey Hill (1824-1891), Rector of Stanway, co. Essex, Canon of Bangor Catherdral, and headmaster of Magdalen College, son of Rev. Humphry Hill (1800-1868), Vicar of Britford, said to descend from Andrew Hill of Dilton (fl. 1630) - later came Edward Hill of Kingsdown House (1807-1869) - Sable on a chevron engrailed ermine between in chief two garbs or, and in base on a mount vert a garb, also or, between two reaping hooks erect proper three palets gules each charged with an ermine spot of the third.
