Heraldic/Genealogical Details:
Henry de Frahan - Belgium - Joseph Henry (1713-1784), settled in Dinant, where his remains can be traced back to 1738. He was a clerk at the Dinant Mont de Piété and married Marie-Catherine Adam in 1754. Their son, Pierre-Joseph (1759-1849), founded the Henry Bank, which covered a large part of the Belgian Ardennes. One of his grandsons, Ignace Henry, served in the 1830 National Congress from November 10, 1830, to July 21, 1831. His lineage is sparse but appears to be quite vigorous. Another, Henri-Joseph, married Isabelle Libert for the second time in 1835, with whom he had numerous children. The eldest, Eugène (1836-1908), is at the origin of the Henry de Frahan, the youngest, Léon (1854-1908), the grandfather of the Henry de Generet. - Ecartelé Aux 1 et 4: de gueules au chevron renversé d’argent mouvant du chef, accompagné en chef d’une étoile à cinq rais et en pointe d’une croisette accostée de deux branches de laurier, le tout d’or; aux 2,et 3 : tiercé en pal, au 1: d’or au lion de gueules, au 2 : d’or à la fasce engrelée de gueules accompagnée en chef de trois merlettes de sable rangées en fasce et en pointe d’une rose de gueules tigée et feuillée de sinople boutonnée d’or, au 3 : d’or à trois fasces de sable.
