Argent three crescents barry wavy azure and gules. (tinctures reversed in some sources)

confirmed in 1578 to William Haynes and his brother, Nicholas Haynes, sons of

Richard Haynes of Reading, co. Berkshire

Also borne by Benedict Hayes (d. 1611), who held lands in Hackney, co. Middlesex (and also in Surrey), his eldest son was Henry Haynes (d. 1627)

Also borne by General Robert Haynes (1769-1851), plantation owner and Speaker of the House of Assembly in Barbados, the son of Richard Down Haynes, who descended from the Haynes of Reading who settled Barbados around the 1640s.
