Norfolk, England - John Harvey (1755-1842), wealthy Norwich textile merchant and banker, purchased Thorpe Lodge in 1779, served as Mayor and High Sheriff for Norwich - Erminois on a chief indented gules three crescents argent. Crest: Over a dexter cubit arm erect proper a crescent argent between two branches of laurel also proper. Motto: Alteri sic tibi (Do to another as to thyself).
