Wiltshire, England - James Harris (1746-1820), English diplomat, served in Spain and Prussia, created Earl of Malmesbury in 1800, son of James Harris (1709-1780), Member of Parliament, son of James Harris (1674-1731) - Argent a chevron erminois between three hedgehogs or, on a chief argent the eagle of Prussia displayed sable beaked, legged, and langued gules on the breast the cipher F. R., and over it the electoral cap, in the dexter claw a sceptre, and in the sinister a mound all gold, and on each wing a trefoil argent. Crest—A hedgehog or, charged on the side with three arrows, one in pale and two in saltire argent and across them barways a key azure. Mottoes: Je maintiendrai (I will maintain) & Ubique patriam reminisci (To remember your country everywhere).
