Earl of Aboyne - The title was created (possibly revived?) in 1660 for Charles Gordon, fourth son of George Gordon, 2nd Marquess of Huntly, and was also created Lord Gordon of Strathaven and Glenlivet at the same time - Azure a chevron between three boars’ heads couped or, within a double tressure adorned with fleurs-de-lis within and crescents without of the last. Crest: A demi lion rampant gules. Supporters: Two chevaliers in complete armour, each holding in the exterior hand a halbert all proper. Motto: Stant caetera tigno.
