Surrey, said to descend from Christopher Fowler of London – In 1822 there was a story involving one Lambert Fowler - “On Friday evening two persons were charged with having committed a detestable offence in Hyde Park. The principal gave his name Lambert Fowler, (a man of fortune), 72, Gloucester-place, New-road; his companion, a half-starved wretch, gave his name William Attredge, a helper in stables. They were both committed for want of bail.”
