Dunne of Brittas, Clonaslee, Queen's County, Ireland - certified in 1860 to Major General Francis Plunkett Dunne (1802-1874), Member of Parliament, son of General Edward Dunne of Brittas (1763-1844), High Sheriff, Justice of the Peace, and Deputy Governor, son of Francis Dunne of Brittas (d. 1771) - said to descend from Barnaby Doyne, who was the fourth son of Teige Doyne, Chief of Hy-Regan in 1590 - Azure an eagle displayed or, on a mount a holly bush, in front thereof a lizard all proper. Crest: three holly-leaves proper banded gules. Motto: Mullach a-bu or Mullach a boo (Victory from the hills) or (Victory to the Duns).
