Devon, employee of Gibbs & Co of the guano trade in Valparaiso, Chile, purchased Colston Hall, son of James Davy (1765-1825) who was born in Jamaica, son of James Davy (1729-1813) -  Argent a chevron engrailed between two mullets in chief gules pierced of the field and in base on a mount vert a lamb passant proper. Crest—On a mount vert a lamb passant reguardant proper semee of estoiles sable supporting a staff or therefrom flowing a pennon argent the ends gules charged with a cross pattée of the last.
