Essex, England - granted in the 1830s to William Davis of Leytonstone (1794-1854), sugar merchant and magistrate, who was also of Montgomery, Wales, Wellclose in Brockworth, co. Gloucester, and Bishop's Castle, co. Shropshire - Argent a chevron pean, in base a lion rampant sable a chief indented of the last, and a canton ermines. Crest—A demi lion issuant sable charged on the shoulder with the fasces or, between  the paws a bomb fired proper. Motto: Decide.
