Clerke of Hitcham, co. Buckinghamshire, England - The Clerke Baronetcy, of Hitcham in the County of Buckingham, was a title created in the Baronetage of England in 1660 for Sir John Clerke, a descendant of Sir John Clerke (d. 1539), who in 1513 captured the Duke of Longueville at the Battle of the Spurs - Argent on a bend gules between three pellets as many swans of the field, on a sinister canton azure a demi ram salient of the first and in chief two fleur-de-lis or, over all a baton trunked. Crest: A ram's head couped proper.
The seventh Baronet was killed in action at the Battle of Saratoga in 1778. The ninth baronet was a lieutenant-colonel and in the 52nd Regiment and fought at the Battle of Waterloo. Shabbington in Buckinghamshire was the seat of the baronetcy from its creation in 1660 until Sir John Clerke, 4th Baronet sold the manor in 1716.
