Churchey of Breconshire, Wales - Walter Churchey (1747-1805), attorney, personal friend of John Wesley, religious writer, son of Walter Churchey, fifth son of Walter Church of Brecon (d. 1646), descended from a Somerset family who had settled in Brecon since the early 17th century - had son Walter Churchey who was town clerk of Brecon from 1814-1840 - Argent on a fesse gules between three greyhounds’ heads erased sable collared or, as many trefoils slipped of the last. Crest—A greyhound’s head erased and collared as in the arms, in the mouth a trefoil slipped gules.
