The Caldwell Baronetcy of Wellsborough, County Fermanagh was created in the Baronetage of Ireland in 1683 for Sir James Caldwell, High Sheriff of County Fermanagh in 1677. He owned Castle Caldwell at Templecarne and bought the estate at Wellsborough. He was the son of John Caldwell (1603-39), a merchant in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, born at Preston, Ayrshire, Scotland - Azure three tops of wells in masonry, two and one Or. Crest—Out of a ducal coronet or, a dexter cubit arm in pale proper grasping a cross calvary gules.
Sir John Caldwell, 6th Baronet, lived in Canada, where he was Treasurer General of Canada.
