Booth of Portland Place, London, England - The Booth Baronetcy of Portland Place was a title created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom created in 1835 for the Sir Felix Booth (1780-1850), a wealthy gin distiller and promoter of Arctic exploration, youngest son of Philip Booth of Mangham’s Hill, co. Hertfordshire. He was succeeded by his nephew, Sir Williamson Booth (1810-1877), son of William Booth of Roydon Hall, co. Essex. The title became extinct on the death of the third Baronet, Sir Charles Booth, in 1896 - Argent on a chevron between three boars’ heads couped and erect sable an estoile of the field. Crest: A lion passant argent gorged with a bar gemelle, and holding in the dexter paw a chaplet of laurel vert. Motto: Deus adjuvat nos (God helps us).
